Interesting yes but does this mean we'll see him wearing a railmaster instead of the PO:-s in the new season, he had the bond for years and the PO not so long right? Top Gear is more amusement but still a great show funny thing in our family everybody (well my dad and i) Alfa drivers. And altough i'm the only Omega wearer he finds the dials to busy and think there cheap watches(maybe something he rememberes from the past). Anyway thanks for the link was good read

That's a good read, thanks for sharing. "The only thing in the world worse than a fake Rolex is a real one!" Made me laugh.:-d He does need to brush up on his Omega history though. Neil Armstrong did not wear an Omega on the moon.

I'm right handed and I don't own a Rolex but if I did, I'd wear it on my Left ;-)

And once, it dumped its gear linkage onto the propshaft when I was doing about 60mph. The noise that resulted was extraordinary: a bit like Brian Blessed being raped.

Priceless :-d

Uh, where did he wear it?

In the Arizona desert? :-d

I think the capsules own timer malfunctioned and Buzz and Armstrong left one of their's in there to make sure the had a working one when the got back. According to Buzz' that was Armstong's.

Top gear is the best car show ever made!
I think Clarkson wore also a Peter Blake in the first season (2002).
And yes Alfa romeo makes fantastic cars always very sporty and now their cars have even very well finished internal (for those who know it, Alfasud was tremendous but with scary interior, today's 149 is very close to Audi quality :-!)

Have you noticed something odd about Rolexes? Especially the modern ones that wind automatically when you move your wrist about? A great many owners wear them on their right hand. I jump to no conclusions here but you can feel free.

Fappity, fap, fap... :-x

The bloke is an oaf in my book always trying to be "controversial" and in doing so acts like a precocious child.

He says:

"I couldn’t have a TW Steel because my wrist isn’t big enough to sport something that can be seen from space......"

So he goes for a 49mm Railmaster.

I wonder if he gets paid for his watch product placements?

I wonder what watch he will be promoting next?

I agree Neil the man is an oaf, BUT his outbursts often burst the balloon of whichever fad is currently taking up air time when few other people do. I understand he also has a lot of input into some good causes including supporting our armed forces (but then so do many objectionable people). For that reason I want him to stay around.

He doesn't mention that it is the 49mm Railmaster and, as we know it comes in several sizes.

I seriously doubt he gets any kickback from Omega for the very reasons you suggest.

Sorry to disagree, in part, with you Neil.

He doesn't mention the size specifically, but he says it's a manual winder - - doesn't that just leave the "jumbo"?

Probably - I knew as I typed it I was opening myself up to correction by a better WIS.

That's about as close to a positive review as you're likely to get from Clarkson, unless it's British ;-)

When considering anything he says about a car(or watch for that matter), it's important to remember that he's an entertainer first and foremost, who gets paid a lot of money to be pompous, self indulgent and often ridiculous and let's face it, no one does it better :-d

JC's opinions are always a good laugh but I would never consider them a definitive guide for any buying-decision(watches or cars). There are plenty of other more credible and informative sources to go by, for that. Though I must admit I do agree with some of his generalizations, crude as they are, especially with regards to watches. Time to start shopping for an Audi b-)

I think that he meant that Armstrong left his speedmaster in the lunar lander and was not wearing his while he walked on the moon's surface (although Aldrin did). I have read/heard this before - that some timer had malfunctioned inside the lander and Armstrong's Speedie had to be left inside with the stopwatch (chrono) function on to keep time on whatever it was.
So, while Armstrong wore his Omega to the moon - he did not actually wear it while he was on the moon.

Wow! That is what you call it, a letter box bonnet? What fun!

Nice engine setup, I can tell you appreciate originality! I am the opposite, my car is quite bastardized. I have a 2L engine in mine, with a limited slip diff in the rear. I bought it like that, and I am ok with it.

Thanks for sharing! This is my second Alfa GT that I have owned, I really them. They are loud and fun!

Let yourself down badly there Nigel. ;-)

The 49mm is the only manual wind model. :-d

It's all a laugh though isn't it?
