View Full Version : My new GMT-Master II

Some weeks ago I ordered a Rolex GMT-Master II at my local watch dealer. Last week he received it, this brand new 2006 Rolex GMT-Master II.
I chose for the red/black because I think the blue/red is for the GMT-Master I. The red/black belongs a bit to the GMT-II in my book. And I also think it is more appropriate with a business suite :-) I didn't like the all-black, because the 2-colored bezel has a function and without it, it wouldn't be a GMT imo ;-)
My Sea-Dweller has been resized (as much as possible :-)) and put on the wrist of my girlfriend. I will probably have that one serviced during summer. It needs a complete overhaul because it looks like it has been under the wheels of a train. I just didn't care about it... But after the overhaul I will probably try my best to keep it in good shape.
Anyway, until then, I think this GMT-Master II will keep a lot of my other watches in their boxes..

Congratulations / van harte gefeliciteerd Robert-Jan.
Stunning combination, the black / whine red bezel and the black dial. Last week I got a new GMT II myself with the exact same bezel. For a future makeover the Pepsi and the true Black will follow soon :-D

Congrats as well then! I had a pepsi bezel on my ref.1675, and liked it because of its originality. However, I have no plans to get more bezels yet :-)

Robert, long time. I remember when we both were into dive watches and I still had my Ploprof. I too have the GMT II and agree with you that the only way to wear it is with a red black insert since that is original to the II. Since it is next to imposible to find one here in the US I have ordered an aftermarket one fo the bay and we'll see how that turns out. I was given the red blue from my wife which I intend to keep but would be nice to swap out one in awhile. It's the only thing I have been wearing for the past two years and couldn't be happier. Enoy!!!!

Hi Anton,
I remember you ofcourse!
It should be possible to get a red/black insert. Have you tried the various salescorners? r-l-x.de also has a good salescorner.

Congrats RJ! Enjoy it in great health. I bet your SD will look great when you get it back from service. Just got our W serial DJ back and it looks almost like new :-!
