Hey Guys,
I was wondering if anyone else wears their SMP or PO or any other nice metal band watch while golfing. I do because I love the watch so much but I worry the band will become loose over time due to the sudden swing of the golf club.
Opinions comments?

My friend has been wearing his Tag Heuer 2000 for 10 years. It's never been serviced, he ALWAYS golfs in it and Always goes swimming in it.
I don't think you should have any problems.

So far no problems but it does bother me a bit that it slides down my wrist after a swing and I always have to pull it up. I guess the speed of the swing and the impact of the club on the grass/ball plus the weight of the PO is enough to move it. I do worry that all the adjusting could loosen the band later down the road but it doesn't matter, I love my PO and love wearing it when I'm golfing.

i have heard that the force generated by a swing over and over (in my case probably many more times than yours over 18!) is not good for the movement. i could be completely off base though, as i can't remember where i read this

My dad has worn his Submariner while golfing for 20 years, and just had his first service, but the watch was running fine the whole time.
While golfing probably isn't good for any mechanical watch, you could get away with it. I tried golfing with my SMP, but the weight of it was too much of a nuisance. I don't wear mine super tight, so it would get in the way on my downswing.

from the mechanical perspective, you should NOT wear your automatic watch(es) while golfing. as many said, the force generated and the impact by the swing are not good for the watch. however, you are golfing and living life. don't get me wrong, i know a lot of people love their watches, so do i. i just think that you should be having fun with your buddies on the course, not worrying if your watch is going to be damaged with the swings. a watch brings us joy, not worries. :-!
it depends .... how bad do you hack?:-d ~ David
I wore my SMP chrono while playing golf and tennis as I have my Sub. No issues at all.

Sounds good, I like the point of enjoying the watch. Good advice guys !
I have a designated golfing watch, a Tissot PR100 which is automatic and hasn't been affected in 3 years of hacking. I wouldn't wear my Omega's though just cause, as others have suggested, I don't want to worry about them.

In a golf swing, your arm absorbs the vast majority of the shock. Whatever measly amount of energy remains won't be nearly enough to harm the watch.

Never been able to wear a watch while golfing myself - for some reason I always "feel" it was there - yea - we golfers are a strange lot. However, I do seem some PGA Tour players wearing their watches for example Phil Mickelson always wears a Rolex (sponsored) on leather.

Golfing with a watch... I take my watch off and turn off my cell when swinging the sticks - the golf course is no place to worry about time - personal opinion - I enjoy my round with no worry. Just a thought.

Here are the times some may consider risky that I've worn mine; shooting my 9mm at the gun range and playing golf.
The times I always remove it; before a shower, before getting into a hot tub anytime I'm going to be lifting weights.
