Just posting this for a friend.

What's the best way to service this watch and is it worth doing? If he wants to sell how much could it go for? It's been in his family since his great grandfather purchased it.

"Vintage silver IWC schaffhausen men wristwatch.
Case serial number: 673540 (circa1913)
Movement serial number: 620518 (circa 1910)"

Very nice watch, I haven't come across that model before. Sorry I can’t really provide any insight, but really appreciate the opportunity to see pictures of it.

I've actually come to learn a little bit more about it.

The movement is a Calibre 64 and this watch was a standard issue for military personnel (officers) at the time.

Very interesting. The price tag on getting it refurbished will be in $700-$800 range.

Great info, thanks for sharing.
The IWC service center will still service it if you want them to right?
Give them a call as I would rather have IWC officially service them.

Also, I say keep it a family heirloom and pass it down to your children.
Do not get rid of that gem, you might regret it someday.
