Please check the Plans thread for pictures of the unfinished bezel.
Unfortunately due to communication problems, the fact that we didn't read the plans well, and also that their designer took it upon himself to make changes to our original design far beyond what we asked him to change, we have issues. The brushed part of the bezel doesn't slope down from the edge as in our picture, and then up to the crystal where it meets the sandblasted part of the case. We're working through this issue now.
Hands - they will be custom made for us. Interestingly, according to C&C, this is the first time they will make custom hands, for a project on this small scale.
Also a question - would you like to have a rubber strap exactly like the original PloProf strap (the one with the square holes)? We can only have one size made, and it will probably be around 130/80mm, and 24/22mm. It shouldl be easy to shorten. The preorder price will not change.
Here's a picture of an original PloProf strap. I'm not sure where the picture came from. If it causes a problem, I'll remove it.
Delivery - November, at this point. Sorry.

Mitch,
It's going to be a great watch, just deal with one issue at a time and it will all work out.

Thanks for the advice. I wish we could take it. If we did that, the watch probably would not be ready for years!

Great news about the hands! :-)
But the PloProf style strap is just an AMAZING idea!! :-! :-!
Wow! Never considered that type of strap an option, but that strap..in 24mm?!?! It would be simply awesome!!

Very happy to hear about the hands! :-)
A Ploprof style strap is a nice touch, but the hands could have been a "dealbreaker".

LaHugh is wiring the money directly to a Chinese strap manufacturer tomorrow. This time we're not working with an agent (at least that's what we believe), so the cost of the straps plus the up front mold charge is comparable to what we would have paid the Swiss, for the strap we showed previously.
We are taking a chance on this - we could end up with 600 pieces of garbage, but it's a chance we'll take. They're even duplicating the buckle, and laser engraving our logo.
LaHugh and I both really like the PloProf strap. I like the Panerai rubber strap too, but not as much.
There will be a leather strap option. It will be a simple aftermarket Panerai style strap - black matt leather with white stitching, and the same buckle as the rubber strap. It's coming from the same vendor, so we'll see. If the quality is bad, we'll put a few together and sell them as dog collars.

I wouldn't buy one without custom hands, either. Neither would LaHugh. We didn't have any choice.

Guys keep up the great work. Just take your time and get it right. I know I can wait for a fantastic watch rather than a "hurried up get one out watch". Great news on the custom hands for sure. :-! Just an extra plus is the strap!!!!
Thanks for the update.

Just make sure the strap is thick. A wimpy skimpy strap on a watch this large will not make it. Looking forward to it! :)

:-! for the customhands and the strap!!!
Just a question.....how do you shorten a ploprofstrap?

Great news MitchSF for the hands and the strap is a good choice. What difference is in the hands that MKII offers and the LM-1's ? Are the LM's slightly larger?

Peter - our main concern is the watch. We expect that most people will replace the stock strap with the strap of their choice. It will be approximately the same thiickness as the original Ploprof strap. That's the best we can do.
Salmonia - The size will be 130/80,and you can cut the 130 side to make it shorter. We can't justify making different sizes.
Kris - MKII hands are shorter. I have a set on a modified Monster.

Love the new strap and I'm totally amped about the custom hands. Now...I'd like you to change from Luminova to Tritium, offer a Platinum case option for those of us well-heeled enough to afford such frivolity and finally, if the delivery date isn't finalized by end of business today, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to pass...this waiting is just getting outta hand!!!

Brad, we are considering the use of other case materials for the next production run. I've been trying to locate a company that can make ceramic cases, but haven't had any luck. We tried Kryptonite, but LaHugh collapsed when he tried it on. It took a while, but his powers did come back. Maybe titanium.
Tritium is a good idea for markers - we'll include a free pair of lead lined boxers.
Bezel - We should have a solution next week. Based on email I received this morning, I think we're on the same page with the factory.

if new materials are being considered for later runs, i would suggest titanium.
i own a number of heavy steel divers, but i also like the lesser weight of some of my Ti watches. if you look at the marketplace, there is a scarcity of beefy, rugged, tool watches in Ti. some people find the 'excessive' weight of the steel versions to be a bit too much.

Good suggestion. It's in the plan for the second production run.

Mitch, I love the idea of an Isofrane-style strap! If they can recreate the comfort of Isofrane, you could easily sell more straps than watches! :-D
Sorry to hear of the misunderstandings - gotta be frustrating after all that's gone before.
I'm still looking forward to this watch very much!

Colin - I'm not sure where "Isofrane" comes from. A Google search links it with Omega, so maybe it's their word for PU, which is Polyurethane. All the Asian manufacturers we've discussed this with, refer to their material as PU. I'll check with our strap manufacturer to see if they offer options.
This has been an interesting journey for LaHugh and I, and we hope others have had fun, too. We'd like things to happen faster, but that's the way it goes. This is a fun project, that's all. We keep it in perspective.
