Called my buddy that's also my local mailman to have him put my package at the front desk so I could receive it today, here is my impression....
The size of the watch is PERFECT in every way. The concern I had with the leather straps being too thick and stiff were way off. They are thick by the lugs, and thinned out towards the buckle, so its flexible where it needs to be, and tight where it needs to be, very much impressed. The face is gorgeous, the silver dials add such a level of attraction to this watch, I really love the look. I have 7 1.2 inch wrists, and the size is low key where it dosent look big, but big enough to be perfectly sized on my wrist. I really like this watch alot and see it getting ALOT of wrist time.
Now the REALLY annoying thing for someone as anal as myself. The 12:00 Chrono second hand is misaligned off to the right around 1/4 second, I will ask you folks, is there anyway to align this? if it were a hair off, it wouldn't bother me, but it is off enough where you could see the full 12:00 marker looking at it dead on. The chrono seconds hand is also a bit jumpy going around the dial, but thats not nearly as big a deal to me as that second hand being off when reset o|
Here's a wrist shot, and a blurry closeup of the Chrono second hand.

Doug, nice pickup...I do agree it looks good on you. X-Wind is a bit too big for my 6.5-inch wrist, unfortunately.

I think you'd be within your rights to have that chrono hand adjusted under warranty (if that is an option). I know of no way to adjust the chrono hands on a 7750 movement without taking the watch apart, unfortunately. For what it's worth, the seconds hand on my Khaki Chrono is a hair off, and I've learned to deal with it...but it isn't as far off as yours.
What do you mean about the chrono seconds hand being "jumpy"? The 7750 is an 8 bps movement, so the chrono seconds hand should look just as smooth as the center sweep second hand on a 2824/2892-based watch.
Sorry for these few glitches, but overall, great pickup!

Looking at this watch, the size was made for my wrist.....very happy as far as the looks go. :-!

The good thing is, the service center is in NJ less than an hour drive for me, so I am hoping it could be a quick drop off and pickup deal. I did get it with a stamped Warranty card, so it's definitely covered. I'm also waiting to hear back from the seller and see if maybe an exchange could be worked out.
As far as Jumpy.....it appears to skip over some seconds. from about the 2:00 to the 5:00 the rest of the way appears to move more smooth.

I realize that your opinion is the only one that counts, but I do agree with you.

Hmm...well my 7750-based Hamilton (which is my only 7750-based watch) does not do this, so maybe there are bigger problems with this one and an exchange with the seller is the way to go, if you can swing it. It is a great looking watch...but sounds like you got one with a few kinks.

Good thing is, I called Swatch group, they said I could drop it off and pick it up.....so I will probably drop it off tomorrow and pick it up Friday before work. I'll definitely have them look at the second hand as well.....worse case, maybe they will replace the movement altogether

Doug, that looks *great* on you. Dang, now I know what you meant when you said you'd try to get those profile shots this week! :-) That's pretty much the watch I was looking at. I'm definitely looking forward to the profile shot. Remember...the macro setting is your friend. :-!

Congratulations, Doug! It looks fantastic on you. Bummer about the hand though. Hope you get that sorted out in good time. Good luck, matey. Looking forward to the reviews.

I received mine last week and LOVE IT. for a 7.5" wrist it is perfect in my opinion. Mine is on rubber and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. I do find it a pain in the rear to adjust the time and date with a crown on the left side. Great watch!

DOug, great looking watch mate and I really hope you get it fixed A.S.A.P!
Great also that Hamilton has it's own forum at last, such an historic watch company deserves no less...Of course it means those of us who do not own a Hamilton will now have to go out and get one:-do|

I have the same watch on an s/s bracelet. I think it an excellent watch, and even at full MRRP is good value for money compared to other swiss brands. I paid less than half price for mine, so a real bargain.:-!
I saw this watch being worn by Jean Claude Van Damme in the movie "JCVD" and a guy in "Quantum Of Solace" also wears one.|>

Great watch!! wear it in good health. My chrono second is not dead centre either. I've learned to live with it.
Here's mine on a very thick strap:

im really diggin the rosegold one (or accent).
gotta try it on in person to see if it looks ridiculous on me or not...
doug, im a little worried that your second hand doesnt line up along w/ the 'jumpiness' in the sweep. i hope its not common across all the x-winds, bc that is my favorite hamilton, hands down. its getting serious attention for my cash :D
pls let us know how it works out.
99reza, would you mind showing pics of your second hand alignment?
if i do end up buying this, ill be sure to check alignment beforehand.

Here is a picture of mine. Don't see anything wrong.
I have 2 X winds and a Khaki Field chrono. One thing I have noticed is that the day and date on all 3 of them change around 1:30 and 2:00 am and not midnight. I just don't understand why Hamilton have done this. Have other owners noticed this please?

The way yours is what I am hoping to get today in the replacement. Sounds like it does what Seiko does, I can't explain why it does it that way....but the Day/Date goes through a cycle to change.....if you notice in the instructions, it says not to change the date between 8 or 9 PM to 2AM.....

After a back and forth with the seller, he offered a refund as the Chrono hand being off as much as it was was going to drive me nuts, I shipped that out Thursday, went to a Brick and Mortar Store about 40 minutes from me and picked up the replacement....I am much happier now :-! This watch ranks up there in my collection with my Marine Master, I am very happy with it. As I had said earlier, this is the perfect size for me. So here are much better photos....enjoy :-!

Yup, have to remember that. I didn't a few years ago and the date wheel mechanism ended up getting damaged. o|
All good now though, as it had been repaired and had its overhaul, and I've learned to be more careful...

I really like the leather strap, mine has a stainless steel bracelet and I would like to swap it to a leather band at times for a different look. Anyone know where I can get hold of a genuine Hamolton one? I can't seem to find one online, and there are no local AD's.

Received my x-wind (white dial black leather strap) a couple of weeks ago. I love it usually I change watches every day but could not take my first Hamilton off my wrist for a week.
No problems with the hand however the only downsize is the visability by daylight. By night no problem. Had to add a white dial to my black/yellow/orange/blue dials.
No regrets its a hell of a watch for the buck ;<))

I would go to Hamilton's website and call some AD's or have your local AD order one. I also plan to purchase Black straps with the SS Rivets as well.
