I am deciding to buy a watch from a guy that claims that he has a genuine Omega bought from abroad. Boxed with papers as seen from photos.

I just want you guys to tell me if looks to be real or fake. And can anyone tell me what is it's actual market value? I am asking so not to over pay for this watch as it isn't cheap.

The photo's are poor but looking at the ake amodel number this is the real one

If forced to to take a view I would say that the date window looks wrong. It looks too square

That's a hard one to determine. The picture is so horrible. What's sticking out to me is the lack of the large indices marking every hour the watch should have. Look at them compared to the real one below. I don't see them on the picture you show, but it could be a reflection issue too. Also, the hands look totally incorrect.

I wouldn't risk it.

On a purchase like that I think you have every right to ask for better pictures. A legit seller would be happy to oblige.

I would also ask for a fine picture of the caseback and serial number. The number should obviously match what's on the warranty and chronometer certificate. The caseback is an obvious way to catch a fake (missing laser engravings, red dot, hippocampus design, etc).

He is actually a local that told me to meet up but I requested pictures first because he is a little too far from where I live and I do not want to drive that distance to look at an obvious fake.

He sent me a few more photos than the one above but just with slightly better quality.

Do you think it's a genuine one?

Thanks

That picture is worse than the first one. Ask for better pictures or tell him no thanks.

Ask him for a clear picture of the face, and a clear picture of the caseback.

Anyone else can offer some insight? As these are the only pics I can offer :(

Sorry

To me the bracelet looks a little off, but again it could be the picture. It seems a little too polished?

Authentic

Bought from this group http://www.poncini.com/en/who_we_are.htm

Well all that really means is the warranty card is authentic. You cannot tell with any certainty from those pictures whether the watch is authentic or not.

Why not meet at an AD if there is one in between?

You are right.

The Omega Chrono, Pictogram and International Warranty Cards along with the Omega red box/white box could have been stolen AND a replica of the SAME model been could have been put in it's place.

The ONLY way to KNOW for sure is to open the case and check the movement...

If I was a betting man and I am, based on the pics and info supplied by the OP, I would buy this Omega.

i own the same exact watch, the 3210.50.00.

as im comparing it to the poor pictures that were provided (no knocks against the op), it is looking very similar to mine (bought from the fad).

i can see the hour markers very faintly in the third photo, as well as the omega horseshoe on top of the writing to the left of the date window.

thats as best as i can do w/ those photos.
if you can get better pics, ill take a better look.

hope this helps.

i agree with bczolone. I think meeting at an AD would be a good idea. Most will be happy to authenticate it and act as a mediator :)

I would sincerely ask for close-up shots. I used to own one and I can't say that I was convinced off the bat.
