I just purchased a very nice vintage 1965/1966 gold filled Navitimer 806.
Everything checked out correct, but I knew that the watch was coming
with aftermarket strap, buckle and aftermarket crown.

1) can you please share the proper strap dimensions (22/18 or 22/20)
2) can you please share a picture and size of authentic tang buckle?

3) Most importantly - I am in search for genuine Breitling crown.
There seem to be many for sale, but most sellers are not exactly sure if their
crown fits Venus caliber 178. Can you please share any info. (crown dimension)
on your Venus 178 powered Navi 806s ?
I am seeing FS ads for:
- 7.0 mm outside diameter ( The actual diameter is 6.85 mm) , around 3.3 mm thick and the tube size is 2.5 mm. Tap 10....or Tap 8
- or 6mm (actual 5.85mm) about 2.75 thick with tube size 2.5mm (tap No.10 or tap No.8 )

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if you are not sure of the tube or tap size, finding out
from the current 806 owner the correct diameter and thickness would be a good start (perhaps
I would just buy 2-3 with various Taps and could try out what works and further re-sell what does not fit),

Thanks in advance.

I am familiar with the 'look' of the crown, but thanks for the pictures, nevertheless.
Can you please measure the diameter and thickness ?

Thanks in advance.

Jonas, that is VERY helpful information. Exactly what I needed. Thank you !!

BTW, I read about the restoration of your 806 with a great interest. (BEAUTIFUL !!)
If I knew that Breitling has still some replacement dials with golden writing
I would consider sending my watch over to them as well even if the price of the
overhaul is considerable. Price I could handle....However waiting for the overhaul
1 year is unfortunately not acceptable to me (and beyond my understanding).

I think the original straps were 22x16mm. Tough to find now days but I've had some custom made before. The gold original crowns are also very difficult to find nos. Much easier to find stainless.

overhaul by BSA should be well worth it, they can replace the non - original sliderule ring as well while they're at it
