I recently purchased a used Emergency to use for Celestial Navigation, I find with my poor eyesight it doesn't do what I want. It is very accurate and was just serviced. There are no marks on the watch itself at all, just a little rubbing on the flip part of the clasp. Now here's what's different about this Emergency, I purchased from a US Air Officer who has worn it on approx.. 70 combat missions over Iraq and Afghanistan. I was also given a really nice flight jacket (used) with plenty of badges. Mine is the model with twin LCD displays, I have the boxes, the transmitter tester and the certificate of course. I have a letter from the Air Force to confirm it's use.
I think that I want to put this on Ebay, but I don't know what the reserve should be. Your advice would be appreciated.

It is worth every penny that the purchaser pays for it.
Joking apart....research what others are going for on the bay and pitch your reserve accordingly.
Your watch, your sale, your call.
Take a ton for it?......

True but the Emergency is extremely difficult to fake.

You failed to mention how old it was. If I was in the market for an Emergency I would tend not to care about the history of the watch but more about the current condition of the watch and if there had been previous problems with the watch.
You may run into someone that feels like the combat missions add value to the watch but someone like that may be hard to come by. I guess you could get $2600 to $2900 for it.

I guess you are right. That's about what I paid for it. But it's history is unique.

Hello,
Thinking about the E and where it is intended to be used, most of them would have a very interesting story to tell if they could have a nice chat over a pint or two. I guess you could document the events and missions into a pdf file now and make it part of the watch accoutrement should you come to sell it in the future. History has a way of fading away if its not recorded. Worth the effort in my mind. Good luck with your new watch. |>

I am going to put it up for sale here along with the letter, documentation and the Nomex Flight Jacket. Yes is modern history in the making, this one even came under fire!
