...and I am keen on learning a lot more about Breitling.

Can you suggest a really good book on the Breitling brand, history, models etc?

Thanks for your help.

But I can't carry them on the bus... ;-)

I just found something on the FAQ: Benno Richter's book, "Breitling: The History of a Great Brand of Watches, 1884 to the Present". It seems interesting.

The Chronologs are also a great wealth of information as well

Hello Francois,

Welcome to our forum.

The Richter book is a very good starting point. There are two editions the latest released in about 2002. Amazon should have a few copies on offer as does ebay for about $40.00 USD. Just searching on the authors name brings up the listings.

As ejc suggested the yearly "chronolog" issued by breitling is a very good source of "stock" information about the annual new releases as they come to market. These also are available from time to time on ebay. Prices, such as they are, range from a few dollars to fifty or sixty dollars depending on the issue. Just now there were 10 auctions going for various years.

Aside from those suggestions one sometimes comes across dealer catalogues and press release kits. Pricing is what the market will bare and can go to a few hundred for the dealer catalogues. There are a couple of publications from Breitling that elaborate on the brand and how they are created. Tracking them down is the trick. I hope this gives you a few clues.
Thanks for posting.

The white cover is the later release.
