Hello, I am an avid watch collector with an interest in railroad wristwatches as well as other catagories. I have 4 Hamilton electric and 6 Accutron railroads currently and have just purchased my first Ball Trainmaster. I am also a member of a couple of other watch forums.

I can not find any way to date the watch and am looking for help here. It is a 21j Swiss movement model MS16048 with a serial number of 474730.
I look forward to finding out about other models of Ball rr watches and appreciate any help you can provide me with this request.

Bill

Guess I'm the sole survivor. I'll turn out the lights as I leave.

Hi there Bill and sorry for the lack of replys to your question.

I myself am by any way no expert on the past watches Ball have made but i might offer a suggestion in help for dating your Trainmaster.
You might try contacting Ball H.Q. directly: http://www.ballwatch.com/index.php?option=com_customer_service

Or you might try to p.m. Scott (mod.) or Jeff Hess (mod) as im sure they will try to help you out with their wealth of knowledge.
Good luck in your quest. :-!

Hi,

Super watch!

this is one of the later manual winder versions before the Automtic came out.

These were, if memory serves, still "Cased and timed in the USA" with hihg grade Swiss movements.

Ball was the first Wrist watch allowed on "the roads" after many long years of wrist-rejection.

nice condition too!

congrats!
Jeff
