I was at the mall this weekend and decided to try on some Omegas. I am still looking forward to owning my first and plan to purchase one in roughly a month and a half. The following are my impressions

Blue Bond Co-axial: This is still number one on my list and I've been obsessed (not ashamed to admit) with it for over a year. Stunning watch, I really love everything about it. Good size, love the bracelet, waves, the blue. Still the one I want, but...

Black Bond Co-axial: I like the black but don't think it will ever win out over the blue.

Black/White PO 42: This one is tempting and for a bit I almost thought I liked it more than the blue Bond. The PO is a bit more understated (in a good way). A little less bling-bling than the Bond IMO because the bracelet is less dressy and doesn't have the captivating waves. All in all though, I prefer the waves, circular markers, bezel and bracelet of the blue bond. Surprisingly appeared slightly smaller than the Bond, they didn't have a 45 for me to check out.

Blue Bond Chrono: What a watch! Talk about wrist presence! You won't ever forget you're wearing this thing, and I really loved that about this watch. It's very handsome but I fundamentally prefer a simpler face. Chronograph just seems like a little too much for me, even though I love the watch.

Mid-sized SMP's: Wow, these are tiny.

Trying these watches on just built my anticipation for the day I pull the trigger. Let's hope I can get it done soon! You're advice/wisdom is appreciated.

i think your top choice is COOL. the blue bond is a "relatively" more original choice than the PO or the 2254-- which both get a lot of love on this forum. it is a classic omega watch--elegant and sporty and unique-- and you can't go wrong with it IMO. also, i think the bracelet is the most comfortable bracelet i've ever owned.

the PO and bond chrono ( though it looks very thick) are certainly great, too, but you should go with your initial leanings. i'm sure you will be happy.

good luck!

Erico,

Seems like your mind is pretty much made up already!
I think it's a good idea to get different opinions on colours, functions etc.
But at the end of the day...I bet you end up getting the Blue Bond.:-d
And reckon you you should too, as this is what you have set your heart on.

I personally only like watches with Black / White / Grey or Silver.

In short...I think you should go and get that Blue Bond!

Buzz.

similar to my observations, my contemporary top 4 Omegas are:

1. Blue SMP Coaxial 2220.80 (I own it)
2. 45.5mm PO on bracelet, black bezel and white numbers.
3. 45.5mm PO on bracelet, black bezel and orange numbers. (incoming)
4. Speedmaster Pro

Before you decide, take a look at the Blue Bond GMT as well. Nice shot of red with the GMT hand and you get a display back to boot. If I had listened to my wife and gotten it first, it would probably have been the only watch I ever needed.

hmm, I didn't know the GMT has a display back.....

Sounds like you have made a good choice there - it will be special when you get one!

I just recently got a black bond co-ax. It just about qualifies for what I consider the "perfect watch" for me. It is so solid, so sporty, dressy, and by far the comfortable bracelet I have ever worn. I have yet to take a pic of it, but will soon. Have fun while anticipating....it is a killer watch!

Couldn't have said it better myself! It's good to have other opinions, but it also sounds like you already know what you want. Go with your heart! :-!

Blue Bond or the Chronodiver, both are brilliant choices

The Blue Bond midsize quartz model is what started this Omega obsession for me. I wound up flipping it, and missed the blue wave dial. Anyway, I recently got a blue Bond Chronometer to replace it. Stay with your gut.;-)

I say get the Blue Bond Co-Ax 2220.80.00, it is a beautiful watch, perhaps more discreet that the chunkier Bond Chrono.
But then I am biased.....

One word of warning. If you haven't noticed the 'waves' on the face, make sure you have a good look at it because when they catch the light, you get stripes. Some people won't have a problem with it but it annoys me and had I known about it before, I would have bought something else.

Still love my watch though.

Speaking from experience, the blue Bond co-axial is a stunner!

Now I know what I'm wearing tomorrow, and it wasn't even its turn in the line-up.

Black Bond (chrono or non, your preference). Like the PO, I think the black is just so much more versatile than the blue. I recently saw a Black bond with the black OEM PO rubber strap (casino royale), looked great, kind of the best of both worlds between the SMP and PO.

Good Luck. Can't go wrong with any of them...
