OK guys so I know the response I will probably get here (you are old enough to make your own decisions get on with it you big girls blouse!), but please help me out.
I see all these pictures of the Omega mesh here and it looks great - I am sorely tempted. So should I go for it? I am looking to put it on my 42mm black/black PO to replace the original bracelet. I know it looks great in pictures on here, but will I be losing the complete package design of the original?
And, let us not forget, as a big Bond fan I will be losing the look as seen in Quantum of Solace...

Nigel,
Personally I'd say no as I don't think you can beat the PO bracelet but you are old enough to make your own decisions so get on with it you big girls blouse!;-)

Sorry to barge in on your thread, but i have a question. How do you resize the mesh bracelet apart from the 4 holes on the clasp ?

That's easy; you don't. If your wrist is smaller than the tightest setting, then, basically, you're stuffed. If your wrist is larger than the widest setting, then you might need to get the wetsuit extension link that clips onto the clasp and then adjust it to the holes to get the fit that,s right for you.

The fact that you're asking would imply that you'd like some assistance, Nigel. So, as a fellow Bond fan, perhaps I could be of help.
Yes, the mesh will change the PO look as we know it, but it is such a comfortable bracelet to wear. Besides, with a spring bar tool, you'll be swapping bracelets back and forth like a pro.
And, let us not forget, as a big Bond fan I will be losing the look as seen in Quantum of Solace...
Ahh, yes, well this is where what I wrote above goes out the window.:-! When I finally get myself a Rolex Submariner one day, I will be torn between;
A- wearing it on a Bond NATO strap (because that's how Sir Sean wore it in "Goldfinger"...before Hi-Definition Blu Ray came along and found that annoying red stripe in the strap that CORVUS charges $50 bucks for.)
OR
B- leaving it on its steel bracelet (because it's such an iconic watch and you just don't mess with an iconic watch.)
OR
C- putting it on a black kevlar strap so that it doesn't look like a Rolex Sub as worn by every one-eyed, can't-be-reasoned-with, die-hard Rolex fan who trashes every (and I mean every) other brand under the sun.
Another option- get yourself a '60s Seamaster 300 or a 2254.50 and put the mesh on that. Hey, I never said it would be a cheap option.
I didn't help at all, did I?;-)

What he said. The mesh is an easy bracelet to sell.

Thanks for all the advice guys - pretty well telling me what I have told myself. I will get on it straight away!

PS. Jon your turn of phrase is fantastic - where did you hear such a term? ;-)
Greg - if I can accept a Leicester Rugby fan calling me a big girl's blouse then being accused of drinking shandy rather than ferret water is no prob :-d
Ferrari 312T - I know it looks great - you are one of the :rodekaart that keep posting pictures and tempting me!
Springdriven - my thoughts t a T :-!
and T - no help at all mate!! ;-)

And Teeritz, I tried my Sub on NATO, and Strap but I think it looks best on its bracelet.

Not only will it look great on the PO, it will also fit your Bond GMT.

Definitely a big fat +1 for the mesh dude :-!.
Super comfy and it looks great with the PO. IMO sometimes the bracelet makes the PO look a bit too 'lobster' like and the mesh is a great change from that. Makes the actual watch head stand out significantly (same with any strap you match with the PO). The PO bracelet is probably a bit too overpowering, for me at least.
If only you can get the new ploprof mesh for the PO!! Now that mesh and clasp looks amazing but i'm afraid it would cost as much as the PO itself o|

Not suggesting you should. ;-) Just nice to have options. In fact, you can put the Bond bracelet on your PO, as I did a few years ago.

Not much of a Mesh fan I'm afraid..
Mesh & Nato just not my thing

IMHO, the mesh should be reserved for watch cases with recessed lugs like the 70's era divers, flightmaster, speedmaster Mark III, etc.

Thanks. I really thought the Bond bracelet suited the PO more. Very retro looking combination.
I've never tried a PO bracelet on the Bond, but I do know the Aqua Terra bracelet fits great on the Bond. Pretty much the same clean look as the PO bracelet.
