Just bought this one secondhand, so serial #64 is now in Dutch hands. Love the watch so far! I'm also surprised by how well the bracelet feels; I'm not a fan of them and had been planning a dressy leather or more casual NATO look for this watch - but I think it's going to stay on metal.

Congratulations on scoring the CR1s. The bracelets are pretty nice, but I'd like something heavier, say with 4 or 5mm thick links, with no polished links. b-)

I don't think my wrist could handle a heavier bracelet with 4/5mm links, it's having trouble with this one as is ;-)

+1.
How do you set up this photo shot? Is it hanging with some sort of fabric backdrop? Are you using a flash or a different form of lighting?

Thanks guys! I use an aging Canon 350d dSLR with external flashes (though the CR1 shots were done with one), triggered by a cheap eBay transmitter/receiver set. That way I can place the flash anywhere I like for the effect I want. Then I use a white lightbox, also cheap from DealExtreme, to diffuse the light around the watch and a black cloth behind the watch for the background. I have a bent clotheshanger I use to hang the watches from. This was another shoot, but it gives you the basic idea:

This was the result of that one:

:( My CR1 is developing a problem - the rotor has started sticking, won't rotate a full circle anymore. Like it catches on something, I noticed it when it stopped running a few times (because the rotor was stuck and wouldn't wind). Anyone have an idea what might have caused that?

Have you tried PM'ing Carlos? I contacted him about a minor issue related to the bracelet and he responded within a day. I would assume that this would still be covered. Good luck.

Well, I got stuck real good this afternoon so I gave it a few more vigorous shakes in the hope the rotor might dislodge. Not only did it, but it also started turning freely again afterwards. Not sure what happened or what caused it in the first place, but it seems I'm again problemfree for now!

The likely cause of your problem is the plastic spacer which holds the movement in place. The caseback exerts pressure on the spacer, which pushes the movement down. When the watch is open, the rotor will not move at all.

Sadly, my joy was shortlived. I've come to the conclusion that when the power reserve winds down to a certain level, the rotor becomes stuck. Winding the watch manually to get it above that level frees the rotor. I'm going to mail Carlos today to get this fixed - hate to have to send it away, I absolutely love this watch :-(

Wow, talk about customer care! I put a support ticket in on the Prometheus website explaining my situation and Carlos replied within a few hours and offered to replace the watch. Awesome!

I bought a strap from Diaboliq for my CR1 - not that I don't like the bracelet, but I am still more of a leather fan. And I sensed that the CR1 might take well to the Panerai style rough, vintage leather look. So far I'm chuffed! Pics:

Hi there, I could not find a dealer / ebayer for this watch. The company website was down.....what would be the free market price for such a nice watch? By the way I have the Retrochron Seaserpent with same movement....cannot complain.
thx!
