One of my colleagues found those pocket watches in a drawer and wants to find out more on his pocket watches, especially re date/period of make, movement etc.

First one is an Aero Watch, presented as a gift to his father when retiring in 1993. No problems to identify the movent: an ETA 9468.

Next one is a small pocket watch with enamel dial and "echapement a cylindre" marked "Aiguilles" on the inner case. No keys so I don`t know if it works.

Next one is a watch made by Illinois Watch Case Co - Elgin - USA. Case with individual no. 2849878. Movement still works.

The Elgin is a 12 size grade 363 made in 1909. A total of 25000 units of this grade were made between 1908 to 1913, so it is not uncommon, but also not among the highest production grades. This watch is pendant set.

For the one with the Tsar (Nikolai Alexandrovich Romanov I think, the last Tsar), it has a case from Illinois Watch Case Co, Elgin, but they did not make watches, only cases. The movement is Swiss. By the way, Illinois Watch Case Co is not related to either Illinois or Elgin watch companies.

They all look like fine watches.

The Aero one (obviously the most modern), is probably the best one to use for regular timekeeping, if you intend to wear one of these watches.

The Elgin looks to be in very nice condition. It might be a very good timekeeper, once it's been serviced.

I don't have anything to say about the other watches, but they look interesting.

For the Russian dial watch, above where it says Nikolai Alexandrovich (I do not read or fully understand Cyrillic script) sadly the minute hand is covering some of the first letters. But I think the second word of the upper line would be 'imperator' in latin, or 'emperor' in English. Now all you Russian speaking members please be kind with me for making a mistake.

Watch #2 is a Swiss or French made LeCoultre style bar movement popular from 1830 to 1875.
The Russian watch is probably Swiss made early 20th century - prior to 1917 for sure.

The Aero watch has an ETA Unitas 6498 movement. Aero still manufactures pws with this movement as well as the 6497.

The word is "gospodar" in russian,"master" in english, and you are right on second word, its imperator. The whole inscript says "Master imperator Aleksandar Nikolai Aleksandrovich".
