Hello everyone,

I am taking the restoration of vitnage watches one step forward and was wondering if anyone could recommend of a good chrome plating business but above all a quality gold plating business, as the ones I found do some kind of a 'bath' and the plating flakes after a short while. I am looking for something similar to the original watches.

I don't mind sending for replating anywhere on the globe as long as I cam communicate in English so any ideas, especially if they have a website with some info/samples that would be great.

Many :thanks!

Try "Budget Accutron" search. John Schut (sp?) has a link to a plating company that seems to know its business. They are not cheap but offer museum quality restoration as well as lesser grade. Good luck

These kind of info is allways usefull. Nice to have such a service in your owne or at least neighbouring country.

In Slovenija I can recomand this: http://www.heledis.si/ (use translate buton). Maybe someone will found the link usefull. See their METAL program: swords, knives, a lot of work is done for military and police...

This is what thay done to my Helvetia. I did a prep job polishing included. Case was a mess before that. All the time in use, not a sign of any problems for now.

Crome on Al aloy from 50`s on my Exacto was done very well to.
