I decided to send my newly accuired Speedy out for a service estimate. I really wasn't planning on doing anything so soon, but I just wanted to see what it would cost... I basically just wanted the movement serviced and the crystal replaced as not disrupt any of the patina. If the crystal wasn't cracked I would have left it. So my watchmaker came back with his estimate and said that he would like to replace the crown and pushers as well. The crown was damaged and the pushers had some corrosion on the tubes. Long story short I told him to go ahead with the work since it was already there. So my baby will be coming back serviced with a new crystal, crown and pushers. I made sure to tell him that I wanted all the original parts back. Now I have to wait a couple loooooong weeks till she gets home. Can't wait. Here she is now...

No, I want the watch to look like it is 41 years old. If it wasnt for the crack in the crystal I wouldn't be replacing that either. I already have a new Speedy so I don't want vintage to look new...haha. I don't want it restored.

Great stuff! And keep the bezel! You don't want a new looking watch!
