Looks good to me, although i've never seen that bakelight box:think:. so i would wait for the B-1 experts to chime in. the watch itself looks fine

Its a real pre-SQ B-1. Not sure about the box either, but I think ive seen that one before, but it was for a limited edition or something.

The A680 is pre-SQ and pre-2000
This is the original B-1, I have this model and love it.
It is very accurate and has been trouble free.
The box also dates to the late 90's. It matches boxes I have from '97 & '98.
It does not match the box my B-1 came in ,but that may not mean anything because I bought mine on a close out and the dealer may have grabbed a box he had in back.

Time to do a bit of research. For your edification, I'll link you to a thread dealing with thermocompensated movements and the application of the technology to watchmaking. From our brother forum, the HEQ forum, here on WUS...

I would agree with EJC, it's a pre 2000 B-1 as all Breitlings from 2000 onwards are COSC certified. This one isn't if the model number is A68062. The zero denotes a non COSC model. If it was COSC certified the zero would be a "3".
