I have been on the hunt lately for some older LE watches. So I come across a Chronomat Tomcat watch #84 of 250 on e-bay.

The watch is listed as used with box and papers, and worn a few times. Having heard that story before I was expecting a watch that was shined up...

What I got was a shocker.

The watch is actually brand new with all the goodies. It also came on a very unusual band that I have never seen before. Having only seen this in pictures in the Chronolog and on the web I did not realize how nice the dial really is. I'll try and take some better pictures... I need to go to work and pay for my disease now.

Nice watch!

Be-careful putting on and taking off sweaters. Those gold rider tabs are very soft and bend easily.

http://gallery.me.com/txturbo/100518/DSC_8221/web.jpgNow THAT is an impressive collection! They are all absolutely beautiful but I am especially drawn to the T-bird with the UTC. The dark subs matching the UTC dial color is amazing. Although in person you can easily see the cuts in the Chronomat's subdials, a lot of enthusiasts are unaware that the UTC dial also has radial cuts, albeit very, very subtly executed. The radials are of course responsible for the "propeller" effect realized when viewing the dials from different angles. Your photo shows the effect very well indeed on both the main dial subs and the UTC dial. Below is a closeup of my slate UTC dial showing the very subtle "grooves" and below that a shot of the "propeller" effect on the UTC dial to illustrate the point again. The build quality of the brand especially on the dials is incredible IMO. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful Chronomat Limited Editions! :thanks :-!
Best,
Ron

The name of the strap is Diver.
It's Diver Pro predecessor.
Nice watch in the great shape, congrats.

And congrats on your new one - you rarely come across a used watch in such pristine condition.

Yes... The T-Bird is an unbelievable watch. Interestingly you can really see the different shades of blue that are used. The T-Bird is a standard issue blue so it matches the UTC perfectly. As far as I know there is no matching UTC for the Blue Angels or the Air force 50th.

Each watch has a very unique look. For example the 50th's dial color is a flat and bright blue that really comes alive in the sun.

The Blue angels watch has a very high gloss blue dial that completely changes in the right light. Also the chronograph hands look like there blued.

Here is how different the watch can look.

I assume that it's the exact color of the plane.
