Hi!
Looking to buy my first 3570.50! Finally! Problem is thogh that it not often says anything about the year of manufacture. The one thing you can go on is the reference number (this case: Ref#:77057387).

Can anyone tell me what year (approx) this was made and how to decide it?

Thank you for helping a beginner

Congrats on your decision to find yourself a Speedy, joacim! You won't regret it.

As far as I know, there haven't been any major changes to the standard Speedmaster Professional since around 1996, when they started using rhodium plating on the movment and changed the nomenclature from c.861 to 1861. So, any recent Speedy is going to be about the same. As you probably noticed, Omega's serial number chart only goes up to 1997. However, there is another chart worth looking at here (http://home.xnet.com/~cmaddox/romans.html).

Compiled by a gentleman named Roman Hartmann and hosted by Chuck Maddox, this table is specific to the standard Speedy Pro.

You can see that 1999 = 77000XXX and 2000 = 77010XXX. From that, we could extrapolate that 77050XXX would date to around 2004.

Keep in mind that these are approximate dates.

Hope that helps a bit.

Good luck on the Speedy hunt!
