Lets see some pics of your Patek's
Mine is a vintage, passed down to me by my grandad. It is beautiful in its simplicity. :-!

This is very beautiful... But don't they deserve a better photo? Come on mate - take some better pictures of that beauty.

All lovely looking pieces. I don't think i've ever seen a Patek that i wouldn't wear given the chance. Not many brands i can say that about.

Why is the PP Nautilus rotor so small?

Why is the PP Nautilus rotor so small?

To keep the movement thin. The base calibre (PP Cal. 240, I believe) is one of the slimmest automatic winding movements ever produced - only 2.4mm.

Thanks Hartmut. Then why do other manufacturers make the rotors large if a smaller one will wind the main spring?

Patek manufactures two type of automatic watch: one with a "planetarium" small
rotor (for very flat pieces) and another with the usual rotor, for thicker or sport
watches. Both are heavy gold rotors. And very reliable!

haha :-d, mate i took it few times to have a bath with me last summer even in salt water :-! it's rated 60 meters WR, shallow swimming will be alright i think, if IWC can withstand it then i doubt Patek Philippe will fail, it has also a screw in crown ;-), and after all it's just a watch and life's too short my friend, VIVE LA VIE :-!:-d

Thank you. My grandfather gave me a choice of either the Patek or an Omega.
I kinda felt like Indiana Jones trying to pick out the Holy Grail. :-d
I think I chose wisely. ;-)

Chronohound, what's the bezel diameter on that beauty? I understand Patek held true to a 33m size for longer than most but their proportions don't leave them looking diminutive (in photos at least).

Thanks Crispy....the case diameter measures at about 34.5. With the crown 35.5.
