Well isn't it great to be back?
I finally got the back off that Everite! No looking at the new case scratches in the photo, of course.... It is a Peseux 7060 which places it late 60s early 70s. The balance spring was not jammed or gummed up, but has come adrift at one end. This might not cost too much after all.

Thanks guys. It would be good to save this one, but I will have to keep a close eye on costs.

Thanks for the info. Never mind the scratches - my Provita doesn't look quite 100% from the back either any more, but it still looks great from the front. There comes the point where you have to say: either I keep it like it is (not working), or I scratch it slightly but enjoy the watch, perhaps by studying the mechanism, which is what turn me on (possibly also getting it back to work so I can enjoy it more) or I pay a load of money on it or I just get rid of it! I made my choice!

I have decided to go ahead and rescue it, spending as little as I can and certainly less than $50. I will then have a very nice slim dress swiss watch from the early 70s and the knowledge of another one rescued!
I will post with the rescued item once I have it completed...
Oh, and Harmut, thanks for the case-opening advice. I just kept trying with ever slimmer knives and eventually got in.

Well it's back! Now in full working order after a balance spring re-fix and re-balance it is keeping good time and looking slim on the wrist. My total investment in the watch is about $50 including the service cost, which is probably a bit more than I should have spent, but what the heck, I like it!

Well done! :-!
It's nice to see a rather unsung model brought back to useful life. Not everything has to be a Patek to be worth fixing , in my view anyway.
