Dear all,

You may have read about the hard disk failure that we have recently experienced. The disk has been send to Germany for further investigation. It will take at least till the end of next week before we know if the disk can be repaired and after that if the data (database) can be recovered.

We hope it will only be temporary and we will have our good old fora back soon. If we are lucky then the old data will overwrite the current ones. Therefore, please store any message you want to keep for future reference on your harddisk. If we will not be lucky then we will need to take it from here and make it a success again.

Please re-register your account if it's not there anymore. We appreciate your support and patience while the administrators work to recover the database.

Best regards,

WUS Mod Team

Bummer about the forum crash! I discovered watchuseek around May -- and the historical discussions were a major source of knowledge regarding watches. I have my fingers crossed that some of the data can be recovered.

I was dmussington under the old system, but abbreviated it to dmuss here.
Hope everyone resurfaces soon.

Cheers

Hey, I'm still here, I don't have a Pam yet but I'm still here....my therapist says that I handled the big meltdown quite well...I've made serious progress :-)

Good to see the Panerai site back.

MWR: they regularly download everything onto a disk and offer it up for sale: all the past year's posts and photos, searchable, an invaluable resource for collectors. The proceeds could then help with the upkeep of the site.

It will be a major disappointment if we don't recover the data. I mean it has become a daily journal of the growth of our small world here. However, we hope the members will remain, and more to join, and that's all that really matters to start anew.

With, or without the old database, we'll continue ROCKIN'! :-!

This is an excellent idea. It would also help new members to catch up on the collected WIS-dom of the community here. (Sorry, I couldn't resist).

Put me down for such a CD if one is every issued.
By the way, what does MWR signify?
