Does anyone have any idea of what Glycine is going to produce beginning this year to replace the currently difficult to obtain 24 hour only Airman models?

I am hoping for something the size of an Airman 2000, 24 hour only, and hoping that they will produce it in the style of an Airman Special with a real 24 hour movement instead of a stock 2893.

Thank you,

Richard

Hi Richard,
The word is that Glycine will introduce a new Airman at Basel next month. Rumor says it may be a new edition of the 1970's Airman SST...which would be in the 42mm size range if it were true to history.
Both the 12 hour/GMT Glycines and the purist 24 hour models have the ETA 2893...The 24 hour models simply don't use the 12 hour pinion. I doubt another movement type would be used because this one movement does it all.
If Glycine comes out with a 24 hour chronograph version that would be really nice.
I think it's difficult for Glycine though. They have fans and collectors like us who want the 24 hour versions, and then they have the general buying public who only want to tell time the AM/PM way.
They need to sell watches by keeping everyone happy. Tough job.
Anyway...as soon as any of us see a new Glycine we'll post it here!
