I sympathize with you two guys (Soviet and Chascomm). Although I didn’t post a lot here, I enjoyed lurking all your info on the Chinese mechanical watches. The knowledge and data found here was unbelievable.
From all the forums over here you are most probably the hardest hit.

Good luck with hard work to come!

Thanks Tammo. It is indeed a big blow to the only English online source of Chinese watches. But I still have the vintage watches, and Chascomm still has the knowledge of those old Chinese watches and watch makers. I am sure we will bring it back. :-)

kind regards

Zhang

TammoThanks Tammo :-)

I've got a couple of articles saved on my hard-drive which I will re-post if the WUS server data recovery is not successful.

Perhaps we will need to consider external image hosting for Zhang's extensive catalogue of watch images. I have to confess that I am a novice in this regard.

Michele's comments in the Russian forum comparing this situation to the burning of the Alexandria library was something of an overstatement, but I certainly share the sentiment. It is going to take some time to recover.

Hi Chascomm,

I am very pleased that you are still around. I hope the database can be brought back in a few days. Watch images are not a problem. I also posted images somewhere else that I can provide a link if needed, or I can take some new ones with my DSLR. But those reviews and articles are valuable information for any one who wish to know more about Chinese watches. I don't think anyone can write a better article than you for Chinese watches. So you must resume your moderator's right and responsibility and make new contributions to the only online English language Chinese watches forum! :-)
