I thought it might be of value placing this reference here for those looking for the Casino Royale 'screen-used' Seamaster Planet Ocean.

I was confused initially so hopefully, this'll help. :-)

The model seen below is:

Stainless Steel strap: ref 2200.50.00

Rubber strap (as seen in CR): ref 2900.50.91

They are the same watch, albeit with different bands. If you are looking to purchase this piece, it's advisable to buy the watch with the SS bracelet, then buy the rubber strap separately - because the SS bracelet is considerably more expensive to buy separately. Retail price of the watch complete with SS bracelet is not that much more than the rubber version... you do the math!

The rubber strap version shown here is not to be confused with ref 2907.50.91 "Casino Royale" Limited Edition "007" (http://www.delldeaton.com/Bond-21-blog-20061115.htm) watch because it is 'screen-used' (see still below), whereas of course, the LE 007 is not.

This is a potentially silly question, but which watch does he wear in the casino scenes? My copy of the DVD has been accosted by my mates and may never be seen again, so can't check it myself. Is he still wearing the PO with the rubber strap, or does he go back to classic blue SMP?

Btw, is the PO on Daniel Craig a 42 or 45.5 mm?

MAN, that 2220.80 is pretty.

It will most certainly be my 2nd Omega!

In Quantum Of Solace, Craig will be wearing the Planet Ocean with the steel bracelet. At Omega's website, the watch is listed as model number 2201.50 which is 42mm >>> http://www.omega.ch/index.php?id=557&details=1&ref=22015000&no_cache=1

So Craig will most likely be wearing a 42mm instead of the bigger 45mm that he wore in Casino Royale..

In my opinion, I actually prefer the Planet Ocean with the black rubber strap as it was seen in Casino Royale. The watch itself looks better with the black strap.. Only the Seamaster Professional goes well with the steel bracelet IMO.. Also, the steel bracelet for the Planet Ocean looks very generic.. The Seamaster Pro has a much better looking bracelet.

I love it, i want it, i am going to buy now, but should i get the 42 or the 45? Does it matter? Which one is better? I am a big guy (6'2'', 250lbs.) will I want the 45?

Hi
If you say you are a big guy, go for the biggest. That's my opinion.
One of the most important thing to consider is the size of your wrist.
Then, it's up to you!
Make your best choise.

I'd beg to differ. I love these watches. In fact I'm about to buy a PO from the forum AD when I hit state side later next month. These watches, however, are not dress watches by most if not all the standards which define "dress watches" that I'm aware of. They're sports watches, dive watches, casual watches, but not dress watches.

That's really my .02 but I think the considered consensus of what constitutes a dress watch won't include the design elements of the Seamaster range - despite Bonds popularization of the look.

I guess it depends on which way you dress. ;-)
