Hi,
I would like to get a classic Navitimer type watch. I would like to know what is the best buy I guess...
Ollech & Wajs made Aviation how compare all those watches? Any one have or had all of them and give me an informed answer?

Ron Engels wrote a long post about the O&W Aviation, but all data have been lost when the forum crashed ... maybe he has a copy of the text at home and could repost it?
Other than that, both Mr. Wajs and Mr. Sinn bought parts from Breitling when the company was sold off, so all three watches are "legitimate" Navitimers.
I have only handled the Sinn 903, IIRC the only one with an internal bezel. That means high water-resistance, but I have difficulty manipulating the bezel crown with my big fingers. But others prefer the internal bezel.

Please check here for my post on the Aviation line of chronographs (http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=4822).
Since I feel (hope :-) ) it deserves its own thread, I started a new one.
Ron.

This is an early Sinn 903 which is identical to Breitling's model 7806.

The movement is a Valjoux 7740, manual wind

Sinn had to remove all Breitling inscriptions on the dial, crown and back

But some Breitling leftovers are still there...:-)

This is another early Sinn 903 with a Lemania 1873, manual wind

I think some of the criteria for making a decision comes down to these:
(given the choices of Breitling, Sinn and Aviation)
1. Do you want manual wind or automatic?
2. Saphire or accrylic crystal?
3. Are you specific of the sub chrono arrangement?
4. Do you want a certain brand name printed on the dial?
There is a big difference between NOS and currently made navitimers.

One might add the internal bezel which gives the same function, but a totally different "feel" from the original set-up. My hunch is that people either love it or they disapprove of it instantly.

Oh, thats true. The Sinn 903 has that internal bezel which you manipulate using the knob at 10 o'clock. I forgot that part.
