If they were Spitfires or Hurricanes I'd use it as my backround. Still nice though.

Yep Mr Rik,
AND I know I'd prefer to being the hunter than the hunted....That ME-109 looks in deep trouble!!!!
Even if he is centre frame.....
My bud Frank was on the restoration team of Black 6 a ME109-G based at Duxford. Got to sit in it, but the cockpit was VERY cramped, and the canopy opens sideways....against the wind...ooooo bad news in a spin.
But a great machine anyhow.

In that case I'll use it :-). Need to put savings toward new glasses instead of watches!;-)

As a post script.....
I'm reading a book called "Blue Man Falling." A ficticious book following a squadron of Hurricane pilots in WWII.
This is a compelling book but very graphic.
As much as I admire the skills of our military and indeed commercal pilots, also the awe in which I hold all fighter/bomber 'planes, I wish that they never had to fight in them.
I would not have the courage to do so. So I applaud their work. I had a friend who joined the RAF, for fun, to fly, and get paid for it. He told me the 1st sortie over Iraq in Desert Storm was the single most frightening day of his life. He lives still thankfully.
So well done to all our servicemen, and get your finger out to all the politicians....although I think it's too late.
Thoughtful this morning.

Hi Davey
There is a photo of a restored Messerschmitt Bf109-G, (ME109) registration FM+BB in the Encyclopedia of Aircraft. I don't know if you remember the lettering on the side of the one you sat in but, could it be the same one??
The 109, was designated the " Bf " for the Bayerische Flugzeungwerke, the Bavarian Aircraft Factory where it was first built. Ironically the prototype Bf 109V-1 was powered by a Rolls-Royce (Kestrel) engine.
Still that was in 1935, when things hadn't quite "hotted up" to the level as depicted on your pic. Very nice BTW.
I agree with your sentiments, but like most things with politicians, be it war or paying to be able to use a road in the face if overwhelming objection..........they (think they) know better:-|
