I wanted to write a note about the watch that has been on my wrist for the last week. It is the Chase Durer Trident FCX. What a beautiful, unique, and crazy watch this is! I say crazy just due to the gigantic wow factor of the watch and how impressed I have been with the quality of the watch up until this point, not to mention the at least 25 times someone has noticed it and been drawn to ask me about it. First, let me give you some of the specs:

Unique Nature

If you are looking for a watch that is beyond any vision of uniqueness you should take a look at this. I was caught in a quandry...I have offices in London and Los Angeles and I needed to be able to keep up with the time zones. It was difficult to me and thus far that only watch that I could find that would do more than one zone was digital. I don't wear digital watches. I had stumbled on this watch a long time ago and revisited it. After about 2 days of making excuses about time zones in order to justify the watch I bought it. My other choices were to buy one of the Luminix watches and get 2 of the extra UTC modules, or to add another UTC module to my Breitling B-2. Man that would have been ugly. This watch fits the bill with not one but TWO time zone modules built into the band. If you like Gadgets this is DEFINATLEY your watch. Alarm, Chronograph, Flyback, two time zones..... Another great feature are the flush chrono and other buttons. Study the manual!

Quality

Starting with the bracelt the first thing you can tell is that they put a huge amount of time into this. The watch itself has a beautiful bracelt with screws. They are inset screws meeing that the link itself is strong but hollow, allong the small screw to go into the end. They seem very sturdy. I have a huge wrist and without question Chase added 3 links (I asked for 2, they threw in the third just in case). Very heavy construction and the bracelet clasp is strong.

The Medallion on the back of the watch is very unique with the typical aviator theme, and individual seral numbers stamped on the back. It is a thick, very sturdy watch and you can almost see that by looking at the back.

Performance

I use the alarm now daily in the mornings and for important meetings. It is very quick and easy to set, and equally simple to turn on and off with an indicator dial in the upper right. The night performance is equal to that of my breitling and other Divers watches. I can't take this watch off so I see it in every possible combination of light and dark.

Service

Chase Durer is a growing brand with a good reputation, but this watch is beyond anything I've ever seen from them, and worth a serious look from anyone who is a watch lover and wants something that you truly will not find in another company. Giving me the links and offering me a replacement strap for one of my other watches is just a single example in a long line of good examples I have to speak to the way this company treats its customers.

I'm glad you like your watch so much!

How much did you pay for it? I've seen it listed for $1200. That seems a little more than I'd pay for a Chase Durer... I have a Commander. Maybe at such a higher price point yours is a very different watch than mine. But my bezel is frozen, Customer Service has never been stellar, keeps ok time, eats up batteries the clasp has "worn out" twice... All in all not bad for a $250 watch that looks that good, but I'd have to really think about spending $1000+ for one.

But I hope you get many years of faithful service from yours! And again Congrats! New watches are always fun.
