I am very, very interested in getting the Phantom. So much so that I am even considering trading/selling my UN Diver in order to aquire the Phantom. May sound like sacriledge but it's a price I'm willing to pay.

Scott,

Doesn't sound like sacriledge around here at all! I like UN's very much, but the Phantom spoke to me, for over 2 years before I decided that I needed one. It has only been off my wrist a few days since it arrived.

I think if I bought the Phantom to start with, I may have only owned two watches. My 1st real watch, a Omega SMP and the Phantom.

In some ways I feel guilty about getting rid of my UN Diver. It's a truly wonderful watch. But I need a watch that I won't have to worry about when I'm working, playing, or just goofing around. With the UN I sometimes find myself deliberately being cautious, which - in my line of work - is not a good thing.

Scott,

I wear mine as a police officer, and have never worried about damaging it. It is built for demanding professionals, as the bracelet uses screws, just like the lugs. It won't be accidently or intentionally be torn off...

Small world. I work for a Federal agency (hint: we've been called the gun police). I was an agent until I got hurt and am now stuck at a desk. Not too much to worry about with damaging the watch! Stay safe out there...

Obie's pictures are better, but here's one of mine. I think it is Kobold's best watch. I really like mine!

Guys, those pics are watch pornography! I want a Phantom sooooo much! Fantastic photos.

obie, I know your watch has lived a hard life but the various scratches and marks actually add character! It's a real tool watch and an incredible design.

I like the Phantom's looks, it gives it the broken in look. Now, once the SMG and Seal arrive in a few weeks, then the hard part comes. Which Kobold to wear. I was just getting used to wearing one watch, and not switching every day or so..

The only question I have has to do with the clasp. I've had several Rolexes in the past that have a clasp similar to what appears in your pictures. Can you tell me how sturdy the clasp is on the Phantom? FYI, I saw an absolutely beautiful full-page add for the Phantom in the latest issue of WatchTime. I'm really feeling the urge to pick up my first Kobold.

Scott,

The clasp is very sturdy, and well built. It feels more substantial than the two Rolexes I currently own. It has always stayed closed, and I would trust it 100% in any situation. It also has a nice range of adjustment in it, almost covers a full link as I have it all the way in right now.

Even though I prefer my Phantom on a Zulu or Nato Strap, the bracelet on the Phantom is very well made and the clasp is sturdy. It's alos very comfortable.http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y214/PetePetePete/P1010208.jpg

I have the Phantom and a Rolex Seadweller and the clasp on the Phantom is sturdier and better made than a Rolex clasp. It has milled hinges rather than stamped out metal. My Phantom does not however have a wetsuit extension, but I don't ever use one now anyway. I refuse to get in cold water requiring a wetsuit.
