Making your own leather strap

Anyone (besides Shane) try making their own straps? I've always wanted to try, and think I will. I've not found anything comprehensively helpful on the net, yet, and will probably turn to books.

Before I go to the library, does anyone know of good resources on the Internet?

I don't think it's that hard to make one. To make one that both looks good and functions well may be another matter.

I did a search for leather and tools and found a wealth of information. But a book would be very helpful. Its just leather. good luck making a strap.
