Hello Everyone,

I traded-in my GMT M2 for a D-series 50th anniversary submariner. I bought the GMT not knowing much about Rolex. I preferred the submariner since learning about it. Even though I am not a diver, I have been working in the U.S. Navy submarine force since 1986. The pictures include the new watch and the old watch. The submariner picutures were taken in Verney Park in Yokosuka, Japan, where I am currently stationed. (I'm not much of a photog)

The pictures are not very good. One thing to note and for comment on the submariner -- the words SWISS MADE cover only 3 marks under the 6 o'clock rectanagle. All the other pictures I have seen, the swiss made covers 6 marks. Don't know why this is, but the watch was purchased at a Japanese AD and has the hologram, serial number and model number in the right place.:gold

Congratulations on the Green Sub, you will love it.

I bought one about two months ago and LOVE it.

As for the dial, there are a couple of versions, so you are fine.

Good luck, and thanks for serving in the Navy.

Best,

LV Green

PS... do you think you will miss the GMT Master? I have one as well, and love it too!

LV, I do not miss the GMT. It was an outstanding watch, but I like the simplicity of the sub's face - minutes, hours, seconds, and date. However, the ability to change the hour hand without stopping the seconds or turning the minute hand is the most functional function I know of on a mechanical watch. I am surprised Rolex has not instilled that function in all of the professional models. I would venture to bet most people that wear professional models do not dive to the depths the GMT, Explorer, Sub, or SD go to. Changing the hour without having to change the minutes would really add to all of the professional models. By the way, where can I get a copy of the Rolex theme song?

Impressive! Love the Kermit-Mariner a lot! A friend of mine has one, and it really looks sharp. Although I have to admit I had to get used to the green bezel at first.

Congrats and enjoy your new watch!
