What is the make of the watch in the middle of the three in the last photo? It looks amazingly like the Wittnauer 2000.

Hello all;
I am new to Russian watches, and this forum. Someday I hope to do what you have done. It is most inspiring to see those pictures of a watch being rebuilt.

You said that was your first attempt at watch repair? Do you have any books you would suggest for learning?

Did you take pictures as you took the watch apart, so you could get the wheels back in the right places?

Sorry, that's a lot of questions for a newbie :roll: But I have an old Westclox Scotty in pieces as I write.

Hi,

Yes it was my first project. I took pictures of any important steps to guide the remounting.

A book and that website were very helpful

http://www.horlogerie-suisse.com/Theoriehorlogerie/fonction-anglais.html

The Theory of Horology
C.A. Reymondin-Monnier-Jeanneret-Pelaratti
It’s the reference book on this subject - used in most Watchmaking Schools in Switzerland and worldwide - many illustrations and drawings - 2003 - 368 pages - 30x21 cm - CHF 110.00

You order that book from many places as this one for instance :

Cheers,

Marc
