I ran across this list of watches issued to astronauts through Apollo missions and thought that others might like to see it. I had not seen it before and found no links to it through either this or the Omega forum.

You should at least quote the Source...

Stated that it was found online. Your use of bold, does that imply something? Would you like the link, how about asking nicely?

You seem offended, but I didn't give you the reason for it.
Don't want to imply nothing neither make a statement or offend you or anyone else.

Bold means just that - I wanted to focus on the 'quote'. If you found the link 'online' you should refer the 'online' source which btw belongs to a well known & respected member (I suppose here) and on other forums.

The link is well know also: http://home.xnet.com/~cmaddox/omega/tables/astronaut/Astronaut_speedies_sanitized_1024.jpg

One of the best sources to learn about Speedies and serial numbers - on other tables there is a +-1/2 years admitted error, but on this one was obtained from Omega's Museum.

Best

Edited: Now that I realise that you know perfectly the author's source I understand it even less.

The graphic has been in my web space for at least a year and a half. I've posted about it several times over at TZ's Omega forum, and it's existence isn't a secret nor classified.

The original source for that document was Marco Richon, who provided a copy to Steve Waddington when Steve visited the Omega Museum over two years ago. A version of that table existed on [former WUS Omega Form moderator] Jean-Michael's site, a version was created by Italian Collectors Gino Balbi and Ricciardo which had even more information that they had folded into their version of the table.

The only thing I've done with the chart was to blur the last 3 numbers of the serial numbers because it occurred to me that unscrupulous people could easily create faked Astronaut Speedmasters just as there have been a steady stream of faked British Military SM300's the past several years.

I'm not at all sure what the fuss is about this table here in this thread. I figured it was old and well known about. I'm not at all worried about someone mentioning that it came from my web space. The only reason I have it is due to the generosity of Steve Waddington. I don't have ad's on my site, I do this for fun. Hopefully, you all do too!

Chuck,

First, thanks for all the hard work educating me on Speedy Pros (even though you didn't know I was one of your "students"):-)

Second, I posted the table and said I found it online because I had not seen it here at WUS and really don't like TZ and don't frequent there so hadn't looked there at all.

Third, I'd have happily given the link if I have a) initially thought to do so and b) hadn't interpreted an apparent language issue with something else.

Finally, again, thanks for the chart. And just so you know, the few notes I've gotten about it have been amazed and thankful that I posted it here. The PMs I got received directions to your page.|>

Thanks again,
-Robert

Apologies for all the fuss.
Like stated ' Didn't want to imply nothing neither make a statement or offend you or anyone else.'

Information is to be shared (specially public one) and - on the edge here - I believe we all agree credit is to be given to those who take the time to research & contribute.

Thank you and keep going the good work on this forum.

I'm a student of the topic at hand myself. As I'm always learning more.

Not a problem at all. I understand about TZ, their rules are draconian.

Third, I'd have happily given the link if I have a) initially thought to do so and b) hadn't interpreted an apparent language issue with something else.

I'm not at all concerned with credit or links on that one. All I'm going in hosting it so people may learn from it. I didn't personally develop that one, so I have few concerns with it (other than full serial numbers being distributed for the reasons I mentioned in my previous post..

You're welcome any time. Of course if anyone else has additional information to add to the topic, I'm all eyes and ears!

Cheers!

Chuck,

You are very gracious - thank you. I meant it when I said that I am a student and I have learned a great deal from your site. Fr. John, and many others, offered it as the first resource several weeks ago when I showed up on the Omega forum hat in hand asking for help from strangers.

I understand your perspective on the table and my motivation for posting it is the same. I think its a terrific and very important list. I also appreciate your thoughtfulness in obscuring the serial numbers endings. I was interested in the firt 4 digits as it tells me some based on the resources online I have come to use in researching Speedy Pros for sale but fully understand with all the fakes what the actual numbers could result in if the wrong people got a hold of them:roll:

Lastly, I appreciate your understanding about TZ. When I asked questions there like the ones I have been asking here the reaction was completely different and put me off looking into Speedy Pros for many months........

My best,

-Robert

am i missing something,
the bottom three entry's for Gemini missions 6-9 are listed as ref no 1450022 using 861 movements how could this be,:-s the last entry for Tom Stafford could well be 861 as this may have been the Apollo-Soyuz mission.
