Hi All,

I have a circa 1971 (that is when I got it) Swiss pin lever Endura chrono-stop watch that is in desperate need of a cleaning. I know the watch isn't valuable, though it is priceless to me as it was a gift from my grandmother. It looks like a chronograph but the pushers only start and stop the second hand, there is no reset. The subdials don't work with the second hand, they are tied to the rest of the movement.

My local watchmakers refuse to look at it, "can't get parts" is what I have heard. I tried some watchmakers on the internet with the same response. I don't think it needs parts, just a serious cleaning since it hasn't been cleaned since it was new. It does run for a few minutes on a full wind and then stops. Cosmetically it looks really good and still ticks really loudly when it does run, I treasured this watch when I was a kid and took real good care of it (other than getting it cleaned of course...I didn't know, I was a kid!:-D )

I have seen similar watches on eBay with different brand names, Cimier for one. I believe it is a "Lampanouse" movement. Does anyone know who would clean this old watch for me? I want to learn watchmaking as I have plenty of experience working on very small things (microelectronics, plus scale modeling), but this isn't the watch I want to start with.

Thank you in advance for your help, I appreciate it!

Sincerely,
Griff

Thank you Ray! I was thinking about buying some on eBay that are listed as running for parts.

Best regards,
Griff
