hi, i'm a new panerai owner and i'm planning to get new rubber strap. but one says 'made in austria' and the other says 'panerai italy'. which one should i go for? thanks

Well PP, that is a loaded question. As the ACTUAL Panerai strap is made in austria. If it says made in Italy it is likely a fake. While I personally destest fake items what you do with your money is none of my business. I could be wrong, it would not be the first time today, but the older straps that are OEM may say Italy on them. The OEM croc that came with my 162 was marked Panerai Italy, or some variation. The black calf with my 210 is marked Austria. I am sure I only added to the confusion, but both straps are 100% OEM. :-!

Yes, I believe some are marked Italy while others are marked austria.

You are correct from what little I know the a/b/c and some d's had the Italian strap...recent production has Austria on them.......and 90% of the fakes out there say Italy on them...many of which have etched letters that are not the correct font......but since it is a rubber strap.........he would be best to practice SAFE strapping!!! OK bad joke, what else is new!
