Aloha to the Ohana!

How's life where you are? Things here in Kauai have been pretty
hectic as we continue to launch Bathys Hawaii. It's not easy
getting the word out about something new! Currently we are in talks
with several high-end jewelers and surf/dive shops here in Hawaii
as we look for dealers locally. Also been taking the watches to the
beach and letting surfers try them out - lots of good feedback and
ideas coming in.

Attached are 4 images...

1) a photo of the face of the Ultraviolet watch;
2) a photo of the back of the UVW;
3) another photo of the back lit slightly differently so you can see how the color can change slightly;
and 4) an "blueprint image" done by Ohana member Brian Green. This guy
is amazing! He's done this type of thing with his Doxa and Omega
Speedmaster, and now with his Bathys. I think it shows well that
the Ronda quartz large date movement we use is more complex than it
is commonly assumed. Thanks Brian!

Hope each of you is well and your day can be filled with a bit of
what we call 'aloha' spirit.

Take care.

Cheers,
John

Ahhhh....

Feels good to be back up and running on WUS!

Wanted to let you guys (with obvious good taste B-)...) who pre-ordered the Ultraviolet PVD 100 Fathom that the watches are HERE and will ship out tomorrow. Now that I have a production watch in the UV PVD, look for more photos soon.

And below is a photo of a silver PVD watch we left off the coast of Kona in a sea cage. The watch spent from Dec 2 to Dec 23, 2005 under 20 Fathoms of Pacific Ocean. After three weeks there was no sign of corrosion or water in the case - exactly what we expect. One of the gents doing the dive testing (Cpt. Kydd Pollock) said that after he cleaned off the algae and fish crap, he snapped this photo, removed the watch from the cage, powerwashed it (!) and has been wearing it ever since.
We love hearing stuff like that.

Aloha and have a fun weekend.

Cheers,
John

ps that's a Kahala = Hawaiian Amberjack =(Serioli dumerili) swimming in the corner of the pic.

Wow, John! Having grown up on the sea and having spent many an hour on and around boats in my youth, I can say with some authority that your test is an incredible testament to the corrosion-resistant properties of your watches! There are few things on this planet more destructive than sea water. Congratulations and best wishes for your continuing success! I can't wait to see what you have in store for us in the future! |>

I'm seriously considering the purchase of an Ultraviolet to go along with my Silver Diver! B-)

Aloha from the frozen tundra.

Nice sunny -18F morning here in Minnesota, yes I said -18 BELOW and thats without the wind. I have been testing the Silver 100 Fathoms for extreme cold weather conditions lol.

I have had a Silver Bathys for two weeks, and I have to say its been on my wrist the entire time. Only have had it off for the occasional strap change. The rest of my collection is getting dusty. I am looking forward to finding out how everyone likes the new UV model when they get their hands on them. I am way tempted to get one to compliment the silver one, come to think of it if I see one more pic of it I may not last the day.
