Given that this rated to survive at depths of 29,000 feet, isn't this more of an extreme low end watch? :-D
Great pics of one of the nicer, no fuss design dive watches out there! :-! The oil filled feature, in addition to enabling Marianas defying depth capability (which is arguably not necessary for most divers :-) ), has another very practical aspect. You can read it much more easily underwater when not viewed directly. I'm not a diver, but have noted that, when I'm underwater in the pool, my watches quickly develop total mirror opacity when viewed from an angle. (Called Total Internal Reflection by optics types.)
The special edition aspect is cool too. Were many made?

Thanks, Bruce. I wish I knew how many were made, but apparently that information is "top secret," i.e., never been disclosed. :-D
Just for the heck of it, I just now contacted Sinn regarding this. Let's see what kind of response I get from them.

Bruce,
You piqued my interest with your question regarding production numbers, so I e-mailed Sinn on the 4th. I received a reply this morning from a Sandra Rodenhagen stating that "approximately 500 copies of the model EZM2 GSG9 (were) built." The note is in German so this is my crude translation, but that's the jist of it. B-)
