As much as I think it looks great and probably better like it is, I was going to be curious to see how a polished thing came out after it was brushed. One of the reasons I liked the SOP I had was because for working in the ER, where my watches can get a little banged around, the brushed finish served me better. Kevin wants a blue SO, but likes the brushed finish of the SOP. I told him he could get it and have it brushed like you almost did. Although for a desk job like Kevin has (writing about history doesn't usually get too messy) I proposed that the polished parts would be fine and look nice.

I was hoping Bruce was going to do the experiment for me, then I wouldn't have to worry as much. Of course, I'd actually have to get the watch first! My wife and I are about to take a cruise, so maybe I can convince her that buying a watch down in the islands is a good thing! Especially before we go snorkeling. Plus my birthday is coming up ;-)

I'm not worried about it getting scratches, i just don't really care for the two-tone (two-texture?) look as much. Plus for a diving watch, you don't need anything blingy. I've got the Datora if I want to catch someone's eye.

... it's a perfect combination of polished and brushed surfaces. Not very sporty maybe, but really subtle in light reflection.
Cheers,
Christian

Right, for all that diving you do. You don't want those Bluegills coming after you with your blingy watch on. ;-)

Don't you have a nice Citizen or something that you can take snorkeling?

I may still do it yet. The watchmaker kinda talked me out of it when he asked me why I wanted to do it. I guess I realized that I really like it as is. I've got other brushed watches. Doesn't hurt to have a partially shiney one :-!
