Hi,

I’m in the process of finishing the purchase on a Navitimer

806 first generation all black dill,

But I was warned that the engraving on the case back

are not authentic (false case back), that its engraved and not

embossed as it should be!
The photo on the left is of the watch I’m interested in

The photo on the right is of another watch from the

same seller. The type of engraving on the second watches is the same.

Can someone please help? The doubt is installed in May mind and I’m don’t now watt to do.O| O| :-S

Tank you

Regards

Hi Raul,

The case backs were hand embossed by the looks of these two.
It looks like natural variation seen in hand struck items.
If you look at navitimer.net I'm sure you will find similar changes between watches of the same model. This is my opinion.

Hi, Tank you for your replay

I’ve been looking all over the net and other places to look at photos of 806 case bakes. I only found one that resembles the case bakes in the photos i have posted.

I’m slightly less nerves.

Raul,

Here are a few 806 case backs from the 1950's and 60's.

From left to right they are 1967, 1960, 1957, 1953.

Cheers,

Hi, Alan

Thank you for your help.:-! :-! :-!

When I receive the watch I will post photos.

The seller’s photos are not very good; it’s not in the state of May 809

But the watch is a bit older, I’m taking a risk on this one, lets see haw

things come abut.

The wait begins.
