I remember that last year, there were a few posts from people who observed that their ETA Thermoline-based watches had suddenly lost several seconds. Was anyone ever able to satisfactorily explain or reproduce this phenomenon?

After my Longines had lost 35 minutes in 2 hours gap I decided to have the watch serviced. It seems to me that the movement itself is faulty.

With that kind of time loss, I don't think that anyone could argue that there was a problem. I was wondering about the cases where people reported a loss of seconds- say, less than 30.

I assume that you've already gotten your watch serviced? How did it do for performance after the service?

For this kind of movements a spontaneous loss of 5 seconds is equal to a loss of 35 minutes: it’s not acceptable at all.

My watch is not serviced yet. I’m still looking for an appropriate service center to face a watchmaker in person. I’m not very comfortable about the “non-faced” Swatch Group Customer Service in New Jersey.
