YELLOW! That is what attracted me to it and I have to say it is erm, very yellow in real life. My theory is that I will use the yellow to remind myself that it is a 24 hr watch. Now what's the time again?

I like the idea of the yellow reminding you that its a 24 hour watch. I just got my first 24 Raketa and reset it this morning because it was "wrong" when in fact I was the one wrong:-D It does take come getting used to and having something like a loud yellow remind you is a terrific idea. Hope it works.

Thanks guys. The yellow seems to be working to remind me so far, bur I'm still having trouble telling the time :-S I'll get used to it.

Tiyok - that is the world time version isn't it? I looked at those also.

Bestak - spoilt for choice there. What a collection!

Docrwm - so it has arrived! Congrats and I hope you enjoy it after the wait.

Quoll, Yes, thanks. Now I'm waiting on another strap for it (too short). At least I'll make some of the money back by selling the Croc strap on eBay:-)

Seriously, the yellow idea is terrific. It fits with lots of the USAF nad USN perception and quick adjustment research for crews and errorless identification of information. Oddly, those two shown in this thread that are yellow are the only yellow dials I've ever liked in any way. Both are attractive to me - I wonder if its the shade of yellow?;-)

I have 2 Raketa 24hr watches, and I find that it doesn't take very long for my mind to get used to the different time scale. I do think the dials would be more intuitive if the 12 was at the top of the dial (as in a normal dial) and the 24 at the 6 o'clock position-- that way daylight hours would be at the top half of the dial and the night at the bottom half. I think most people would find this to be more natural. I've seen a couple of watches with dials like this-- german or swiss I think.
What's really bothersome about these watches is that the hour hand moves at half normal speed across the dial-- it makes the work day seem to last forever! :-D :-D :-D

Yeah, but look at how long the weekend lasts when you have one of these!|>
