I just purchased this Omega(my first) on ebay. The item number is 230157577331. I'm looking at it closer now and I don't think I made a wise decision in purchasing it. Will someone check it ou and tell me what they think?

I'm not an expert, but what part of it are you worried about? I can see it needs some work, especially based on the description, but I would assume it's a decent price for the work needed.

What I see-
1)The Cal 354 is a center seconds, as this one has. The dial is from another watch, so you'll never get a working seconds hand on the seconds register.
2)The movement is really filthy, I wouldn't hazard a guess on it's condition
3)I don't think that's the right caseback for that case
4)Crown is not Omega, nor even close to looking correct
5)Bracelet is cheap aftermarket
6)The movement dates from about 1953, the dial looks to be about the correct age(but for a cal 355 I think) and the hands look correct as does the case.
Not sure why you bit on this one as it really doesn't look to good at all.
The seller looks like he sells parts and I'm guessing that that is what you have here -a "frankenwatch".
I think this one is a lesson(but a cheap one).
Good luck, Don

Thanx Don. I'm new to the watch collecting game so I thought I got a steal. I became cautious when I noticed the center seconds along with a missing register second hand which didn't make sense. I actually haven't paid for it yet although I'm legally bound to do so. Should I complain or just suck it up. If I can't do anything about it should I try to find a new dial and crown and get it cleaned or is it worth the trouble?

There are very few people who haven’t been stung at least once!
First- I think you can pick up a really clean one of these for around $350. I can see no scenario where you can get this one cleaned up with a correct dial and crown and presentable strap for that. Most likely a lot more.
Second- the seller seems to like to avoid negative feedback ( he has a fair amount already) . I would explain that you feel the watch was not presented entirely honestly (although he didn’t really out and out lie either) and don’t want it. Threaten him with negative feedback and notification to ebay . Lets face it- he sells way to many watches not to have known that what he was selling was junk.
Maybe you could offer him $25 as a peace offering .
I would take my first negative feedback rather than pay for this(BUT that’s just me)
If you do pay for it, don’t fix it up- tape it to your monitor where you can always see it before you bid again!

Agree with Don. This really is apiece of junk and i wouldnt pay for it. Worse case scenario if you do get lumbered with it then sell case, dial and movement seperately on ebay and you will most likely recover what you paifd for it, and may even make a profit. Whatever you do dont go down the route of paying $$$$ to have it fxed as you'll spend more than the value of the watch.

I just sent the guy an email, hopefully he wont have a problem relisting it. If he does then I guess we'll trade negatives. Anyway thanx again folks. You helped me alot.

I agree this is a piece of junk.
But the seller has an honest auction and maybe a correct desription according to his knowledge.
Hopefully he will relist it.
