A quick question for those of you that might have more insight than the manual provides....

Is the Vector constantly taking altitude readings to feed the logbook when in TIME mode or does it have to be in ALTI mode in order for the sensor to take measurements?

Also, am I correct in understanding that the BARO mode is always sampling the atmosphere in order to update the "Barometric Trend" feature, or is it only functioning when in BARO mode?

I am curious as to what is going on in the background when I am in TIME mode.

Thanks!

Im not sure about feeding a "logbook" but yes, its my understanding that on the Vector both functions are always "sampling".

The Observer requires you to choose one function over the other. This is to minimize the affects of barometric drift on the Alti function.

The Core will do this automatically. Of course we have yet to see how well it works but the Core shoulr prove to be even more accurate.

Hello, I believe the logbook has to be activated, but yes, the sensors are sampling all the time. It really works well for me. I know my altitude in my driveway, so when I leave the house, I always check the reference altitude and make sure its on 140ft. Then all day, I have a correct altitude reading and baro reading/trend indicator. My X9Mi is different as you have to select which mode you want. At night I'll set it on baro/weather alarm, and then during the day (after I set my reference altitude to 140ft) I use the altimiter mode.:-! Kevin.

Thats the way an Observer works as well.

Can we make this a sticky since I have a vector also and need some help with it.
