The thing that's puuting me off the x-black vector is what appears to be an orange ring around the inside of the face. Can anyone who's got one confirm if that's really there?

I feel the same way. How do you make a real stealthy watch and put anything orange on it is beyond my thinking.

I tend to agree with you. Back when I was looking feverishly for a Vector, I narrowed it down to the X-Balck, Foliage Green, and Coyote Brown. The X-Black lost out bacause of this very thing you described. The orange ring o|o| Other than that, its perfect. If I knew I could stealth it out, I would have bought it. I stealthed out a couple of Wademen for some buds of mine.

You guys and your stealth watches... That little ring of subdued orange would probably be the last thing to give you away as your skulking though the woods. :)
Im looking for a day glo orange watch LOL...

I have the vector and yes there is an orange ring just like in the pictures. I like it though and I've worn it is some pretty "crusty" places and it didn't give me up. Trust me, if you are worried about being seen because of a small orange band around your watch face, you have other issues.
When I bought mine, the mil-lander was not out yet, otherwise I might have got that instead due to the metal case. I am happy with my Vector though and it is one of the most accurate time pieces I have. Hacked it, 3 months later at morning brief it was still dead nuts on as it had been everyday in between. Kinda shocking really. b-)

Hello SmartUK:
I bought a black with negative display Vector about three weeks ago. I can confirm thast it does have an orange chapter ring. The chapter ring actually compliments the appearance of the negative display.
I don't believe that my watch was marketed as a military model but the foliage green Vector definitely is.

Someone of my ample dimensions is not easily hidden in ANY environment..! Just seemed a bit odd to produce a black-themed watch and then put some orange detailing on it!

I have a vector and a xlander mil. The band on the xlander feels more substantial, and has a nice band that holds the loop on the band securly. Compared to the vector, the xlanders band seems stiffer, while the vector feels more rubbery and more prone to wear.
