I noticed that worldlux.com says they are an official Ball retailer. I'd like to know if any of you have done business with them before and could shed some light one them. The reasons i ask is that my nearest Ball AD is over 100 miles from where i am.

I bought a watch from worldlux a few months ago. They were friendly and professional and offered me a fair and reasonabale price. Free 2 day shipping too. .
I have no connection with worldlux other than being a very satisfied customer.

I just purchased a rubber strap for my Hydrocarbon from them. It was not cheap but shipping was reasonable and it did not take much time for them even with it not being a stock item. I would recommend them as an option.

I am curious about this thread and purchasing Ball Watches online. At one point in time, Ball Watch specifically stated that they do not sell their watches online, and one must go to and AD for purchase. Has this changed? And does Ball now allow ADs to sell them online, or is this vendor a grey dealer? If grey, does that violate any agreement with the NRC due to the tubes? Just wondering...

I believe that you cannot purchase them online. You have to call or contact via email in order to get a price quote and purchase. You cannot order via an online shopping cart. That is what is against Balls policy IIRC

In addition to thier web business Worldlux is also a Brick and Mortar store inside the Fairmont Olympic hotel in Seattle. I was able to pop in a couple of years ago on a business trip and I can tell you they are a legit Ball AD.

Ball allows dealer to advertise and display their watches on AD's websites, however there are no online shopping carts or anyway to purchase a watch without visiting or calling a dealer.
In regards to checking to see if a store is a dealer is to put their location onto the Ball watch dealer locator at ballwatchusa.com

Talk to Rob Caplan @ Topper Jewelers. You won't go wrong, and you'll be very pleased with the entire experience.

I too have been in their store, it's about 10 minutes from my work... nice place, and a good selection. They are an excellent AD.

I just have to chime in here and reiterate the :-! that you just got from jpt111 for Rob Caplan at Topper's Jewelers. (I am in no way affiliated with their company nor would I receive any type of compensation for endorsing them.)
However, I have purchased alot, and I do mean alot, of mechanical watches over the years; authorized dealers, grey market, ebay individual, side alley in Singapore, crawled through the side window & swiped it from the bedside table--you get the picture. I recently purchased a Tri-Lume Night Train from Rob and the experience was excellent on all levels.
The thing is, I didn't even call looking for that watch. I was primed to purchase an Ionosphere, had been looking for some time, still am gonna buy one and so on. But, upon Rob talking to me, finding out my affinity to Ball, my recent purchases, he steered me to a relatively rare Tri-Lume Night Train:-p in perfect condition, at an outstanding price--and to top it all off, offered a year of in-house warranty since it was a used piece and Ball simply doesn't transfer warranty to any secondary owner-period. (as an aside, this Night Train is eerily close to quartz accuracy-I have had a number of mechanicals, and never, I mean never, have I had one neither lose nor gain time like this one. No B.S., I tell no fibs, this thing is running at + .5 second per day on a bi-directional winder. Left with crown up, static, it stayed within 1 second over 24 hrs. How cool is that?)
The pricing , product knowledge, general demeanor speed/ease of shipping, etc...It is on my wrist now & I couldn't be more delighted. Give him a call at least and put him in the running--I guarantee if ya let him in on what you are looking for, he will point you the right direction. I can always buy a new Ionosphere, right? Not that many of these good condition Tri-Lume Night Trains out there. It takes a intuitive sales person to determine a piece that was more right for me, at that moment, than the piece I thought I wanted! He is competitive with pricing also. Great good luck on your quest for the Ball of your desires. Whatever you end up with, I am positive you will enjoy the hunt. Cheers
