I am the proud new owner of a PAM 104. I have wanted this watch for so long and I am very happy. However I broke the screw on the deployment buckle while changing straps for the very first time. I immediately went back to the jeweler who glady replaced the part. They said this is a very common mistake. Does anybody have specific suggestions on changing straps, or should I just be very careful when doing so. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats and welcome aboard.

Haven't changed my strap yet so not sure if there is a correct way to change it.

congrats on the watch. i've changed straps on all my pams many times, but never broke a screw. in fact, you have me scratching my head, wondering how that could have happen lol. did you use a drill or something lol. maybe you need to stay away from the gym for a bit lol. it's a sweet looking watch though, good luck with it.

CONGRATS on the new piece, the 104 is a GREAT choice!!! The deployment screw is a common problem. I have to say the only way to prevent it is to be careful. My only advice is to lay it flush on a table and carefully unscrew it while NOT putting any pressure from the top, if you apply any pressure from any direction other than into the screw end you will likely break it!!! Sorry a bad design! but......a great watch! :-!

PS. Welcome to out little paradise!

Thanks for the advice sellnit. I LOVE my new watch and I feel proud to be a part of the club. However, I feel bad for my Omega which will be getting a lot of rest time collecting dust. :-D
