After 33 days and 9 countries living out of a suitcase, it feels good to sleep in my own bed again. This mission was a serious adventure not for the faint of heart. Commercial flight from California to Hartford, CT- pick up the plane in Groton-mechanical problem shortly after take off- return to Groton- get it fixed- take off again- head to Goose Bay, Canada- get weathered in for days- fly across the pond to Narsarsauq, Greenland- get weathered in for days- fly across another pond to Reykjavik, Iceland- get stuck again- fly across yet another pond to Prestwick, Scottland-cross the English Channel to Germany- another delay for parts and wx- cross the Alps and into Zadar, Croatia- more bad weather- next stop Athens, Greece to see the really old stuff- across the last pond but at least it was warm water to Egypt- slight mechanical issue- go back to Souda Bay, Crete for maintenance- Yes, I know that is the wrong direction, but that is life- 3 lovely days in Crete- back to the Sharm El Sheikh on the Red Sea-very nice water and fish there- cross the Saudi desert and finally into Kuwait- drop off the plane and race to the airport to get on a commercial flight back to the land of the free.
I wore the D66 combo with my Casio Data Bank. I also brought my Yes Zulu for solar data. The watches all worked well. The only thing that I don't like is that screw down crowns are a pain when you cross so many time zones. I think that Fortis got this right with a non screw crown. My 2 cents.

Departing Narsarauq which is a really difficult airport to fly into

This could ruin your day

I wish every day ended like this
