Here are my four most recent vintage purchases on eBay, all within the past month. The Gruen Curvex has a triple-faceted crystal. I think I'm going to keep the Gruen and Waltham, and sell the Oris and Wittnauer.
Agreed?

Your choice but I do like the Waltham and Gruen.

Hi -
Don't mean to rain on you rparade, but is the Gruen really a Curvex? The case looks straight to me, and there is/was a common scam in replacing a non-curvex face with a curvex face (Gruen actually stopped supplying Curvex-labeled dials for that reason...).
Regardless, great condition! What an eye you've got there for beautiful classics. :-)
I'd agree with your keep/sell decision...

JohnFHi John,
It's a real Curvex - - I popped the hood to make sure it was a genuine "Curvex" movement. I forgot which movement number it is, but it's got the curved plates all right. I'll post a photo of the movement when I get a chance.
One thing I like about this Gruen is its size. The case is 22mm x 41mm, which is big for Gruen. |> At $169 shipped, it was a steal! :-)

Hi -
Then a double congrats is in order! :-)
The larger Gruens are the most usable of the vintages: there is one model that is 51mm! Of course, the older men's watches make outstanding women's watches today... :-)

Here are a few quick hand-helds of the Gruen. I thought the light was better but I guess not! :-( Looks like the movement is a 370.

Hi -
Definitely a Curvex. :-)
I've always wondered why someone hasn't re-invented this kind of movement. I guess everyone is making too much money without it...

...and this is the movement in the Waltham with the fluted sides case. It's a 1933 Grade 567.
