I keep forgetting that there's a pen sub forum as I'm usually lurking in the Sinn and Affordable areas but I wanted to know if any of you have tried (or own) any of the pens in the Monteverde Mega series
A while back there was an article in either the NYT or Wall Street Journ. about them and every once in a while I come across it in my backup files and then go look for the pen at my local stores in SF but I've never seen one and am hesitant to order one site unseen.
Thanks!

eltejano,
I have not seen the Monteverde Mega series. I just purchased a Regatta series rollerball from a local office supply store to see how I would like it. I have not even done enough writing with it to form an opinion.

Thanks Sandra
I may wind up ordering one in the near future anyway- hopefully someone else has tried it.
I like yours btw- although your desktop looks a little furry for writing ;)
here's an article (http://hisnibs.com/article.htm)on the mega pen on the hisnibs.com site in case you're interested

I've seen these pens sold online, but never in person. I've owned a couple of Monteverde fountain pens (Regatta and Invincia) as well as their Olympia ballpoints. Monteverde is one of the brands owned by Yafa and are basically nice looking fashion pens, but the Monteverde fountain pens I owned were too heavy, had poor balance and had generic Chinese nibs marked "Iridium Germany". I still own one of their Olympia ballpoints which are nice and lightweight. The Mega series looks like an interesting concept, albeit a bit pricey for an acrylic rollerball, but if they have a feed like a fountain pen and take fountain pen ink, why just not buy a fountain pen?
